Thanks to some of you fabulous people who donated money, and to Adara's own hard work (she is spending her entire earnings from this Winter) she has raised the thousands of dollars needed to spend a month in Thailand doing volunteer work! She'll be most likely working with children rescued from the sex slave industry and might spend time with Elephants in the conservatory too.

Of course, we are a little concerned about sending her there with her gastroperisis and a gallbladder problem, especially since she has had to quit her medication due to side effects. But her physician is trying to resolve the problem and she may be sent into surgery in time to recover for her trip.
This is an extremely important opportunity for Adara. She loves the people of the world, which is why she is getting a degree in Anthropology, and she wants so much to be well enough to travel and volunteer in a good cause.
Today Adara went in for more testing to see if she really is diabetic. If she is, we'll be glad to know so she can work with it! If she isn't we'll just be glad that she doesn't have to work with it.
Her weight is sinking again to below 100 lbs and the medication caused a chemical imbalance which produced serious depression symptoms that she is still battling on and off. She has always been such a bright and cheery person, it's hard for her family to see her like this. We know that having Thailand to focus on has been a great help for her and given her strength to deal with her illnesses.
Thank you again for your financial and emotional support. Adara really needs it right now!

Adara will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. I'm sure she has a good doctor.
Preston & I will be praying Adara. It is so irritating to be without magical powers to fix problems! Although, a world full of my interference... SCARY!
