Latest Family Member: Artemis

Artemis, our latest rescued kitty. She has amazingly unique eyes. It looks like someone took a paintbrush and dobbed blue-green around her pupils. Someone also painted splashes of orange all over her silver body.

Don't let her benign, gentle look fool you. Artemis got her name from being a fierce young hunter. The minute we set her down on the floor of her new home, she leaped onto the birdcage and stuck there like a suction-cup Garfield doll on a car window, trying to get at the birds. Then she dashed boldly throughout the house, without any qualms at all and looked into every room, under every bed, behind each chair and couch and bookshelf. She tried to jump into the toilet, climbed up our coats in the mudroom, delved into my son's backpack and supremely ignored Zero Dog who followed her around barking and trying to play. This cat has absolutely no fear. Zero is thrilled that she is here. Pretty Kitty Catster, not so much. The two alpha females keep sniffing noses and then glaring at each other.
