Dave and Miriam had planned a trip to Spain and Morocco to celebrate Valentine's Day and Dave's promotion, but the accident left Dave extremely exhausted. It takes many weeks to rebuild red blood cells, and he is tired all the time even now. With his hand in a state of healing and his lack of energy, they decided to cancel their trip. Unfortunately, the condo and plane tickets could not be canceled, and it was a shame for them to go to waste. They decided together that Miriam should take her sister, Celeste, and continue on without Dave. This produced a lot of mixed feelings for Miriam, leaving Dave behind after such a dramatic weekend of almost losing him and going to Spain when he couldn't... but Dave insisted that he would feel worse if the trip were wasted.

Celeste was an awesome traveling companion, and the sisters have always acted silly together, so the video reflects their odd sense of humor. They missed their families, but the experience was enjoyable and enriching.

Dave and Miriam are planning another trip soon to make up for lost time together and a dramatically (and sadly) interrupted vacation. Perhaps a trip down the Amazon river?
