We were very sad when Artemis left our home for a better place, but we are pleased to announce a new member of our family: Spike, the Vampire Cat. Spike has the sweetest little pink ears, but is no wussy cat. He bullies Zero around and leaps on top of PK and literally climbs the walls of our house. Spike is the kind of cat who swings from chandeliers and bites off the heads of birds while he's doing it, purring the entire time. Purrrrrrrrrr. He is always purring. He purrs while hunting and purrs while drinking water from the tap. PK thinks she is his mother. She took to Spike instantly and lets him jump all over her, and even plays back with him like a large kitten. Zero loves him too, but is very wary of his little hiss and purr.
Spike was rescued from the Humane Society where he has been since he was born. He was the last of a litter and no one adopted him for a couple months, because he is a bit hyper. We decided he fit in very well with the Latours. In this photo he is crawling down the wall to PK.
Spike, the Vampire Cat got his name from "Spike", a character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
