Spike came in from outside with a swollen face, and we thought it was just an insect sting. The vet took one look at his face and saw that there was an immense amount of bleeding and bruising. He drew blood and found that Spike's platelets were almost non-existent. The vet thought it might be feline leukemia or autoimmunity dysfunction, but fortunately after some more tests, he has neither. His body is attacking his blood platelets, however, and he is on medication to stop that. The prognosis looks good. Spike is feeling much better today. We have to watch him closely so that he doesn't bruise, because he will bleed internally.

Spike feels better. Zero looks concerned.
